This week the vinyl geek reviews one of the greatest rock operas ever recorded pink floyd s 11th studio album the wall on columbia records from 1979 pinkf. At press time experience and immersions editions of wish you were here which arrives in november 2011 and the wall coming february 2012 details are sketchy but if published track sheets and amazon are any indication floyd fanatics should rejoice. Two months of work began on the wall at cbs studios new york with the new york philharmonic orchestra and conductor arranger michael kamen floyd later worked on the wall at los angeles cherokee studios and producers workshop. The wall is a stunning synthesis of waters by now familiar thematic obsessions.

The presentation for this vinyl album is immaculate it looks incredible and it plays well. Dark side of the moon s sour middle aged tristesse. Didn t have any issues with both vinyls they both played well and didn t have any marks scratches etc. As of 2016 the album has been re released on pink floyd records distributed by sony music with different artwork on the cd compared to the discovery edition from 2011 and 36 plus years on is still the best album of the 1976 83 phase of pink floyd the roger waters power trip.
